Overview
Lucy Watson Productions specialises in high-end editorial and fashion shoots that ensure a personal and meticulous approach as well as hosting clients in ultimate comfort. When they approached me to assist with a fashion shoot on Exmoor, the brief was clear: bring the right local knowledge, horses, and practical structure to make the day run smoothly in one of the UK’s most striking and unpredictable landscapes.
I worked alongside Lucy and her production team to handle the groundwork — sourcing horses, coordinating local partners, and ensuring access and logistics were in place so the creative team could focus entirely on the work in front of the lens.
Outcome
The shoot achieved a seamless balance between fashion and wild landscape — refined styling set against Exmoor’s dramatic moorland and shifting light. Behind the images was careful coordination: reliable horses, practical logistics, and a network of trusted local partners that allowed the production to unfold with ease.
Reflection
This project was a reminder that the most compelling creative work depends on strong foundations. My role was to bridge the gap between production and place — managing the details that make complex shoots in rural locations feel effortless.
Working with Lucy and her team was a pleasure: professional, collaborative, and proof that with good planning and trusted local connections, even the wildest settings can work beautifully on camera.
Review
Victoria was an essential part to our photo shoot for Harper’s Bazaar. We wanted to create a magical feeling of a character riding in the wilds of Exmoor. Victoria researched and arranged all our locations, she provided the support to arrange for our team and kit to access the best spots with ease and pleasure. Fashion shoots with valuable clothes and equipment when shooting off the beaten track can be tricky and complicated, especially when on a tight schedule, but with Victoria’s help it felt simple and fun. The amazing results of the images are a direct result of Victoria’s dedication, hard work and local knowledge.
