Overview
The Dillay is a working farm rooted in the rhythms of the Slad Valley — home to a Dexter suckler herd, woodland deer, honeybees, and small-batch products that celebrates the quiet abundance of the land.
I’ve worked with the team to bring structure, creative strategy, and clarity to a growing rural enterprise — one that sits at the intersection of farming, craft, and conservation. My focus has been on helping The Dillay market its beef boxes, organise its administration and communicate its story with intention and integrity.
Outcome
The Dillay has evolved from an inspired idea into a coherent, confident enterprise — grounded in strong systems and a clear creative direction. It now communicates with clarity and consistency across everything it does: from compliance documentation to visual identity and market presence.
By pairing creative thinking with strategic rigour, The Dillay is able to grow sustainably — producing food and goods that are not only of high quality but rich in story and sense of place.
Reflection
This project embodies what I love most about working with creative rural enterprises: helping turn instinct and potential into structured, purposeful action. It’s where ideas meet systems — where a spark of creativity becomes something tangible, traceable, and enduring.
At The Dillay, my role has been to bring both clarity and imagination — building a framework that allows the creativity, ecology, and integrity of the place to thrive in harmony.

Over the past year it has been my great fortune to have Victoria as my right hand lady.
Blessed with a huge capacity for work, and open to new experiences and ideas, Victoria is an all-rounder. She can put order into the administrative side of the business as well as help me with the big picture. Week-in , week-out, her positive energy and rigor have been critical, giving me the means and confidence to build the business’ foundations.
